Karachiites rejected ethnic politics by adopting national one: Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday said the victory of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates in by-elections held in Karachi reflected the public trust in Prime Minister Imran Khan and his government.

“People of Karachi have opted for national politics by rejecting the ethnic one. By the grace of Allah, this will herald the bright future of Pakistan,” he wrote in a tweet, while counting of votes was still underway for by-elections on a National Assembly and a provincial assembly seat, however PTI was leading with big margin in the Karachi’s constituencies.

PTI’s Aftab Siddiqui was well ahead of MQM-P’s Sadiq Iftikhar with 31, 366 votes as per the results of 232 out of 240 polling stations in the constituency NA-247.

MQM-P’s Sadiq Iftikhar so far grabbed 13, 544 votes.

PTI’s Shehzad Qureshi was leading with 10, 761 votes as compared to PPP’s Fayyaz Pirzada who secured 4, 497 votes as per the results of 72 out of 80 polling stations of PS-111.
