LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to submit comments on a bail petition of former railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique in Paragon Society case.
A two-judge bench headed by Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed granted a NAB prosecutor more time to submit reply to the petitions by March 14.
Khawaja brothers through their counsel submitted that the bureau nominated them in the case without having any incriminating evidence against them. They said they had extended full cooperation to the NAB during investigation and provided all documents to prove that they had not link to the Paragon City Society.

The applicants said they were being punished by the corruption watchdog on political grounds.
Earlier, on March 4, an accountability court extended the judicial remand of Khawaja brothers in the case until March 19.
NAB had launched an investigation into the alleged scam in November after a number of victims staged protests and held a press conference at the Lahore Press Club against what they termed housing society’s fraud.
