National Security Adviser Nasir Janjua to head NAP implementation body

The meeting in federal capital on Monday ended with the announcement of 29 new civil-military wings ensuring full implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) in the country.
The newly announced civil-military wings would assist in improving border management and subsequently checking terrorist infiltration in the country from the neighbouring countries particularly from the war-hit Afghanistan and India.
Matters related to the country’s internal security options would be enhanced through these wings, it was maintained in the meeting.

The meeting led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif opened deliberations on injecting a refresh momentum into NAP today.
Director General Inter Services Public Relations Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa and Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security Lieutenant General (R) Nasir Khan Janjua were also in attendance during the meeting.
The participants of the meet agreed unanimously that the civil-military coordination in a bid to eliminate terrorism from the country would continue.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant General (Retd) Nasir Khan Janjua was named as the head of the NAP implementation committee in which, it was announced that interior secretary and Director General National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) would also play their part with provincial secretaries, interior secretaries and inspector generals.
The meeting also discussed the cyber crime bill approved earlier this month by the National Assembly in length.
On Thursday, the civilian and military leaderships had agreed to form a monitoring task force, ensuring the implementation of the National Action Plan in the country.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif had also raised concerns over the slow pace of the implementation of NAP as he thought it could affect the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb in the country.
