Marriage is better than having girlfriends: Shamoon Abbasi

Veteran actor and director Shamoon Abbasi recently spoke up on his third marriage after criticism from some quarters.

Shamoon Abbasi appeared on a private channel’s talk show and spoke about people’s negative reactions to his multiple marriages. He said he tells them he prefers a wife over a girlfriend when they ask why he keeps getting married.

The celebrity said Almighty Allah has ordered the believers to marry instead of being with a girlfriend. He added that his father told him that society does not encourage girlfriend culture as well.

The ‘Waar‘ actor said his former wives Humaima Malick and Javeria Abbasi are living a better life without him.

It is pertinent to mention that Shamoon Abbasi married Javeria Abbasi in 1997. They ended their marriage after a decade. He then married Humaima Malick after three years. Their marriage lasted for three years.

He confirmed his marriage to Sherry Shah in March this year. The latter penned a heartfelt post for her life partner on her Instagram account.

“I appreciate so many things about you—your strength, your calmness, your character and integrity, your sense of humour, your way of seeing the beauty in the world and how fun you are to be with and how beautiful my life has become because of you,” she wrote.

Sherry Shah added, “Thanks for being the best thing in my life, every hardship is a walk in the park when you are around. I feel so blessed to have you as my life partner. Thanks for existing.”
