ISLAMABAD: Talking about undisclosed agenda of the All Parties Conference (APC), Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan on Tuesday said ostensibly the opposition parties were trying to seek a National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to evade the accountability.
Talking to the host of ARY News program ‘Off The Record’, he said the ongoing accountability cases against the opposition leaders were not filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
Shedding light on possibility of topics of the APC agenda, the PTI leader said, “There is a short term plan and a long term plan. In short term plan the government takes step and some go positive while the others fail to reap the expected benefits, so the wrong steps are reversed which could be criticised. However, you could not lambast the government for long term policies as implementation of those policies is still in their early stages.
“You can criticise the government on short term failures, but how could you criticise the government for a long term failure (of the previous government) while the incumbent government is still too young.”

Ali Khan said in the parliament he had offered the opposition to form a charter on economic policies with the government.
He said Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had suggested to discuss economic policy with the opposition. However, lack of seriousness was witnessed at the end of the opposition, he added.
