PML-Q’s Rizwan takes oath as Punjab minister

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) MPA Bau Rizwan on Friday took oath as a Punjab minister, ARY News reported.

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammed Sarwar administered the oath to Rizwan in a ceremony which took place at 10:00 am at the Governor House in Lahore. The event was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervez Elahi and other political leaders.

Rizwan was elected from Sialkot (PP-128) in the 2018 general elections. His portfolio is not yet decided. The coalition partners of the ruling party got this ministry just a day after former Punjab minister Abdul Aleem Khan resigned following his arrest by the anti-graft watchdog.

In a meeting between PML-Q and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) I leaders on Thursday, Chaudhry M Sarwar had assured that the PML-Q that the provincial government would redress all their issues.

The governor of Punjab on January 31 had said complaints within a party or coalition was part of democratic process adding that the grievances of the PML-Q would be addressed.

There were speculations about differences of the coalition partner with the ruling PTI. The PML-Q lawmakers in Punjab had expressed concerns over some ministers of the government.
