ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has urged the governments to ensure the provision of equal opportunities to women like men as they could lessen the domestic economic burden by joining professional fields.
President Alvi, while addressing ‘Young Women Leadership Conference’ in Islamabad, said the women should make maximum participation in the diverse field for adding their contribution in national development.
He was of the view that economic autonomy guarantees the independence and prosperity of women in any society.

The president said that Islam is the first religion which gave inheritance right to women. He added that implementation on the law was most important for economic autonomy for women.
Alvi said opportunities were being created in various sectors. He
highlighted that women tendency of getting admissions in educational institutions reached 70 per cent. However, he noted that despite such an encouraging trend, working women were still a smaller proportion of just 20 per cent in different organizations.Read More: Real war is against unemployment, poverty: President Alvi
He urged the audience to invest their energies for uplifting deprived and the poor, which he said would be an ultimate peaceful social advancement. He also predicted that in future people would cognise the nature intangible.
The president also urged the state to pay special attention to underprivileged sections of the society.
The president congratulated the organisers of the annual Young Women Leadership Conference. He noted the organisers would further enhance awareness and attraction among females to play their role in national development.
