LONDON: Former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Saleem Shahzad on Sunday announced his return to Pakistan within next 48 hours, ARY News reported.
He said within next 48 hours he would be in Karachi. In a comment, he said he would announce his party affiliation after reaching the country.

He is most likely going to join MQM Pakistan as in a tweet in Augusts last year after MQM Pakistan dissociated from its founder, he had said he would soon come to Pakistan to strengthen MQM Pakistan chief Farooq Sattar and Rabita Committee.
“Reaching Karachi in 48 hours Insh Allah. Pakistan Zindabad Karachi Zindabad,” he tweeted.
The former MQM leader said that a number of accusations were hurled at him and he would answer all those. He said politics of Karachi will be done only by the people of Karachi.
Saleem Shahzad had also welcomed Nadeem Nusrat and other MQM London leaders’ expulsion from party’s Pakistan based Rabita Committee.

It is pertinent here to mention that Shahzad has been in politics for 30 years. His party membership was revoked by MQM founder four years back over “violation of party’s code of conducts”. He has been residing in London since many years.
