Security plan for PSL 4 finalised: AIG Karachi

KARACHI: Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Amir Ali Shaikh on Tuesday said a comprehensive security plan for the Pakistan Super League (PSL)-season 4 matches has been finalized, ARY News reported.

Addressing a press conference in the National Stadium Karachi, he maintained that necessary security measures have been taken out to ensure safety of the stadium, during scheduled matches of the PSL-season four in the metropolis.

“We had a full dress-rehearsal in this regard, while operations were also underway,” the Karachi police chief said.

The AIG said 50 Superintendent of Police (SPs) and around 800 women personnel will be deployed around the stadium to avoid any unforeseen situation.

Shaikh said they were in contact with the health department, K-Electric and other departments concerned to ensure foolproof arrangements for the mega tournament.

He advised the citizens do not forget to bring their Computerized National Identity Card (CNICs) for entrance in the stadium.

On Sunday, a full-dress rehearsal of the security arrangements of Pakistan Super League (PSL)-season 4 matches was held in Karachi.

During the rehearsal, the security forces – comprising Rangers, police and other law enforcement agencies – had conducted a drill transporting team from airport to hotel and subsequently moving them to stadium.

The rehearsal was conducted at Nipa roundabout, Karsaz, Dalmia, Jail chowrangi, and other nearby arteries.
