American singer Taylor Swift has just announced she might never perform a few of her superhit songs like You Belong With Me and Love Story.
The pop artist took to Twitter to share a statement that claims she has been stopped from performing a few of her hit songs from her early albums due to a rights’ dispute.
The diva said she had been named as the Artist of the Decade for the American Music Awards (AMA), scheduled for November 24 and she wanted to perform a medley comprising her hit songs throughout the decade, in it.
She posted a statement that read, “Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun have now said that I’m not allowed to perform my old songs on television because they claim that would be re-recording my music before I’m allowed to.”
She announced Netflix had made a documentary about her and the agents had “declined the use of my older music or performance footage for this project”.
She said Borchetta had given her a chance to use the music under conditions such as promising, “not to re-record copycat versions” and to “stop talking about him and Scooter Braun”.
Taylor Swift shared the post because she hopes to “change the awareness level for other artists and potentially help them avoid a similar fate”.
“The message being sent to me is very clear. Basically, be a good little girl and shut up. Or you’ll be punished.”

She encouraged her fans to let these men know “how you feel about this,” and that she just wants to perform her music.
Scooter Braun also known to be Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande’s manager, purchased the rights of Taylor Swift’s hit songs earlier this year.
She had signed away the ownership of all her songs to ain 2005 while she was 15 years old. Ithaca Holdings, a media holding company owned by Braun, recently acquired the label, which means he now owns all her albums.
Taylor Swift wrote, “I learned about Scooter Braun’s purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world.”
“All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years,” she continued.
