Twin cracker blasts in Kotri, no casualty reported

KOTRI: Two cracker blasts were reported near Kotri railway phatak on late Thursday night, ARY News reported.

According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Naeem Shaikh, no casualty was reported in the blasts.

Soon after the blast, contingents of Rangers and police reached the site of the blast and cordoned off the area. The law enforcement agencies recovered two more crackers from the site.

Later, the bomb disposal squad was called on who defused the cracker bombs after reaching the spot.

The local police said cracker blasts were aimed to create panic in the area.

It too early to comment about the nature of the act as further investigation into the matter was underway, the police said.

In 2017, at least 15 people including children were injured in a ‘cracker bomb’ attack beneath Sakhi Wahab flyover in Hyderabad.

Eyewitnesses said assailants riding a bike hurled cracker bomb on a market of old clothes beneath Sakhi Wahab flyover.

The injured were rushed to a nearby medical facility for the treatment.
