Woman fakes kidnapping to extort $50,000 from mother

A woman got arrested for allegedly staging her kidnapping not once but four times to extort money from her mother.

A foreign news agency stated the woman wanted to extort $50,000 from her mother. She had hatched the plan with help of her boyfriend and his family.

She sent a fake video of her being blindfolded and splattered with blood. In the video, the woman told her mother that “kidnappers” would kill her if the police came to knew about it. 

“Mommy. They’ve kidnapped me,” the woman said in the video. “You can’t say anything to the police. If you do, they’ll kill me.” The woman claimed herself to be denied food and assaulted.

She and four others got arrested from a casino in the Los Angeles city. They are facing charges of extortion and other offenses.

The suspect had extorted at least $45,000 from her mother thrice before.

It is pertinent to mention that people have faked themselves to be in precarious positions to achieve their means. 

Earlier, a 19-year-old man named Brandon Soules in Coolidge city in the United States state of Arizona gave a baffling alibi to skip work after staging his abduction. But his stunt did notled as the police arrested him under false reporting charges.

However, his stunt did not last long. He got arrested for false reporting. He accepted his crime.
