The teaser trailer premiered after being introduced by director James Gunn.

The first teaser trailer offers a first look at David Corenswet as Superman’s alter ego, Clark Kent, a reporter for The Daily Planet.

The footage also gives quick looks at Superman’s beloved Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) at the Daily Planet alongside shots of the superhero’s arch nemesis, Lex Luthor, portrayed by Hollywood star Nicholas Hoult.

During the trailer launch event, James Gunn shared how he incorporated the decency Superman can represent for America and the rest of the world.

“I think that’s what ‘Take me home is all about.’ We do have sort of a battered vision of Superman at the beginning, and I think that is our country. I believe in the goodness of human beings, and I believe that most people in this country, despite their ideological beliefs or their politics, are doing their best to get by and trying to be good people, despite what it may seem like for the other side, no matter what that other side might be,” Gunn said.

It is pertinent to mention here that ‘Superman,’ scheduled for a release on July 11 next year, is the first solo movie for the character after 2013’s ‘Man of Steel.’

James Gunn has asserted for two years now that the film will launch the new DC Universe he and Peter Safran have been tasked with leading.

Actor David Corenswet, best known for his role in Netflix’s ‘Hollywood,’ will debut for the first time in the DC cinematic universe.

In an earlier interview, Corenswet admitted that he sometimes did not feel like Superman on the set.

“It’s like when you get a nice haircut, and you forget about it, but then you walk around and everybody’s like, ‘Whoa, you look great, for once!’ I got to see other people see Superman,” the Hollywood star added.
