Talking to the media vice president of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz said that her and Shehbaz Sharif had discussed a possibility of an in-house change in the parliament and appointing a new chairman senate, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

Outside the house of PML-N stalwarts Khwaja Saad and Salman Rafique, Maryam said that the leader of the opposition in the parliament had discussed the agenda of chairman senate Sadiq Sanjrani’s removal and in-house change with various opposition leaders.

Opining over the high- power debt probe commission announced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Maryam said: “There was no need to involve the country’s security institutes in such a commission, all of the institutes in the country are already members of Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) and National Security Committee (NSC).”

Talking about Imran Khan’s role in the current arrests and corruption inquires, Maryam said that she felt sorry for him as he had no decision making power and was taking orders.

“You can’t throw tantrums when on job (Nokri ki tey nakhra ki), said Maryam.

Maryam lambasted series of arrests by the anti-graft watchdog in reference to corruption cases against political leaders of the country.

“If someone talks about truth and honesty they try and scare them with court cases, arrests and inquiries,” said Maryam.

“I have nothing to be scared for and of, I have heard something since childhood that ‘law is blind’.”

Maryam also said that the Prime Minister’s sister, Aleema Khan should have been the first one to be inquired against due to corruption cases against her.

Speaking on the recent meetings she has been having with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Maryam said that she and Bilawal have an important task ahead of them and they have united to alleviate the burden the current government has levied on the people.

“Inflation and budget have increased the challenges and difficulties of a common man, those who would vote in favor of the budget will commit a crime against the people of Pakistan,” stressed Maryam.

Talking about the current governments performance Maryam was of the opinion that the federal government was unveiling its incompetence with time and that was the reason that the opposition stayed away from a drastic decision in the past.

“We wanted them to expose themselves, but now time has come that the opposition rejuvenates its ranks and goes out in full force against the government and its policies,” announced Maryam.

“No matter who they jail, their incompetence will still come in the way of progress and results.”

Speaking on chaos in the parliament sessions against opposition leaders by the government benches, Maryam said that the situation was quite odd.

“They have been handed charge of the country via conspiracy yet they remain incompetent, their mind is stuck in container politics and they refuse to get down from it,” added Maryam.

Maryam demanded that the opposition unite under an umbrella and go against the current set-up and its policies, I urge them to give tough time to the government and hold them accountable.

In conclusion she touched upon her father’s imprisonment and said that Nawaz Sharif has left his fate up to God.
