According to details, CTD arrest five suspects said to be affiliated with the global terror outfit from Bahawalpur. Five bombs, different kinds of ammunition and a laptop were recovered from the arrested persons.
CTD said that the suspects wanted to target a railway bridge built on River Sutlej.
It should be noted that Director General Intelligence Bureau (DG-IB) Aftab Sultan had said that Daesh was emerging as a threat in the country because several militant groups had soft corner for it. He had specifically named Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan as examples.
He had also said that a network of Daesh was captured in Pakistan adding that the terrorist group also works in coordination with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
However, the Pakistani government has repeatedly denied that the global terrorist organization is operating in the country.
