ISLAMABAD: A bench of Pakistan's Supreme Court resumed hearing of the missing persons case today, ARY News reports.

The court is likely to issue contempt notices to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the governor and chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa today over non-compliance of the court ruling in missing persons case.

A three-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja on Tuesday expressed resentment over non-production of 33 missing persons before the court.

The bench while started writing the order of issuing a show-cause notice to the prime minister, chief minister K-P and the governor, Attorney General of Pakistan Salman Aslam sought a short adjournment, pleading with the court to give some time and promised progress in the matter.

Justice Khawaja accepted the request and postponed the hearing till Wednesday (today). The learned justice however warned that the court will issue contempt notice to the Prime Minister of Pakistan if no progress reported in the matter.
