MQM holds candle light vigil for Tahira Asif

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) held a candle light vigil in the memory of slain Parliamentarian Tahira Asif at 90 Headquarters Azizabad, ARY News reports.

MQM Parliamentarian Tahira Asif was killed by unidentified men as she was en-route to Islamabad from Lahore.

Party members payed a tribute to Tahira Asif lit candles and laid floral wreaths on her pictures.

Special prayers were also held for her soul on the occasion.

On the occasion, MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that Tahira Asif was killed because she was protesting against the Model Town incident in Lahore. He added that peace talks with Taliban were a sham.

Haider Abbas Rizvi said that Tahira Asif became a victim of religious extremism. He also said that her sacrifice will not go in vain.

The people, on the occasion, demanded that the killers of the slain MQM parliamentarian should be arrested immediately.
