LAHORE: Renowned TV and film actor Ghayyur Akhtar passed away in Lahore after a prolonged illness. He was 79, ARY News reported on Friday.
Ghayyur began his career in late 1970s from Radio Pakistan and his exceptional talent brought him to a TV screen. He was shot to fame from a TV drama ‘Sona Chandi’.
His appearances in super-hit soaps like ‘Ainak Wala Jin’ earned him a huge recognition.
He had given his last interview to ARY News. Ghayyur has left behind two sons and a widow. He was also given a Pride of Performance award.
