ISLAMABAD: The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Masood Khan said India’s decision to grant nativity status to non-Kashmiri Hindus is a clear violation of the UN Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.

While condemning the action, he said Kashmiris were deeply concerned over this development because it is an immoral design to change the demographic composition of the territory, radio Pakistan reported.

The AJK President said such moves by the Indian government would further strengthen the resolve of Kashmiri youth to struggle for their right to self-determination.

On Saturday, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Yasin Malik also accused India of planning to change the demography of held-Kashmir by issuing domicile certificates to non-Kashmiri Hindu refugees.

Malik said he would not hesitate to sacrifice his life in a bid to spoil the very move initiated by the regime of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

He added, “We will not allow any move aimed at changing the demography of Jammu and Kashmir. We will oppose all such moves tooth and nail,” he said, adding, “Kashmiri people can never be mute spectators on such moves. There will always be a tough resistance to defeat such designs.”
