Guard strangles son of Peshawar DIG in Karachi’s DHA over monetary dispute

KARACHI: A security guar dallegedly after a scuffle strangulated son of DIG Police Peshawar Mazhar Shahab Wali here in Defence area on Friday night, ARY News reported.

Police have recovered the body of 27-year-old Umair Shahab from his bungalow in Khayaban-e-Sahar in Defence area of Karachi.

The guard has been identified as Farqir Muhammad who allegedly demanded Rs 200,000 from the deceased and on refusal a scuffle broke out between them during which he strangulated the victim to death.

The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy. Police sources apprised media that evidences have been collected from the crime scene.

DIG Peshawar, Mazhar Shahab, has said that his son was in the room when the security guard entered and asked him for Rs 200,000 and on refusal he strangulated him to death with a rope. He further said that the guard had threatened the family and at time of the incident his wife and daughter were also present in the Bungalow.

Police have shifted the security guard, Faqir Muhammad, to Darakhshan Police Station.

Meanwhile Faqir Muhammad has said that he needed money to send to his family and on refusal a scuffle broke out between him and Umair Shahab. He claimed the victim wanted to kill him but in resistance he was killed.
