Gullu Butt challenges ATC sentence in LHC

An Anti-Terrorism Court had awarded 11 years, three months sentence and Rs. 111,000 fine to Gullu Butt for vandalizing public property during the police firing incident which claimed the lives of 14 workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Minhajul Quran in Model Town area of Lahore.

Shahid Aziz aka Gullu Butt in his plea against the sentence said that he had broken windscreens and glasses of only two cars, which was a minor offence.

In the appeal filed by his lawyer, it has been stated that the ATC had announced its verdict on contrary to the facts in the Model Town vandalism case.

The plea requested the court to nullify the ATC verdict and order his release.

Gullu Butt was sent to jail by an ATC for vandalising public property outside the Minhajul Quran Secretariat during PAT worker`s clash with police in Model Town area of Lahore on June 17,  2014.
