LAHORE: Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import contract has been challenged in Lahore Registry of Supreme Court, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
Petitioner Barrister Zafarullah has challenged awarding the LNG import contract to a firm owned by Mian Mansha.
The petitioner in his plea said that the contract of around two billion dollars' LNG import from Qatar has been awarded to the company without deciding the rate and other relevant matters.
The petitioner said that the contract has been given to ETPL, a company owned by Mian Mansha, prior to settling matters with the government of Qatar.
The petition further said that the two companies had tendered their bids but the tender of the other company was rejected in favor of the firm of Mian Mansha.
The petition further claimed that the PEPRA rules have been violated in the LNG tender and pleaded to the court for cancellation of the contract.
