Karachi operation — crackdown against terrorists and other criminals started in September 2013, completed its two years in September this year with tangible gains in law enforcement in Pakistan’s largest city.
In the new phase, the Rangers will take on terrorists, contract killers and their facilitators involved in attacks on LEA personnel “especially police, lawyers and witnesses” and such elements will be eliminated, the statement said.
The paramilitary agency has requested the citizens of Karachi to share any information about such elements on their 1101 helpline, through SMS, or via emailing at [email protected].
In September 2013 the federal cabinet empowered Rangers to lead a targeted advance with the support of police against criminals already identified by the federal, military and civilian agencies for their alleged involvement in targeted killings, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism in Karachi.
