Rawal Dam: Water level exceeds threshold of risk

According to details, rivers have been flooded with rain water, while the water level is also rising in different dams. Water level in Rawal Dam has crossed the threshold of risk.

In order to scale down the water level, Rawal Dam’s spillways will be opened in an hour, while the concerned departments have issued a warning to the residents of low-lying areas of Rawalpindi, to shift to safer places.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, 4 lac cubic feet water will be passing through Chenab River, which can cause flood in several areas.

Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief, Altaf Hussain while expressing concerns over the havoc caused in Punjab, has declared the concerned departments responsible of all the casualties due to rains.
