The latest death was reported from Civil Hospital, Mithi. Over 55 children are currently admitted at the hospital in Chachro, Islamakot and other nearby villages.
In a briefing to media last week, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said people were being died in Tharparlar after getting treatment from unskilled maids and not the starvation.
He said the former MQM health minister Dr. Sagheer Ahmed never visited Tharparkar during his tenure previously. Opposition parties, mainly the MQM, slammed the PPP-led Sindh government and said Tharparkar natives had been left to fend for themselves in this crisis situation.
