Emirates Airlines threaten to lodge case against PML-N govt

LAHORE: Emirates Airlines has threatened to lodge ‘plane hijacking’ case against the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government, if the plane carrying Dr. Tahirul Qadri at Lahore airport was not vacated at the earliest, ARY News reported Monday.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri is onboard Emirates Airline flight EK-612, which was scheduled to land in Islamabad this morning, but was diverted to Lahore over security reasons. Since 8.30am, the plane is stationed at Lahore airport, with Dr. Qadri refusing to disembark citing security concerns.

He argued why his plane was diverted to Lahore. Thousands of PAT activists have thronged airport in Lahore in order to provide security to their party head.

The Emirates Airlines has asked the government to immediately clear the situation and vacate the plane, otherwise a case against the Pakistani government would be registered, they added.
