According to details, a firing incident took place inside Kabirwala Building located at the Jinnah Road, Quetta, during which two people were killed including the assignment editor of ARY News, Irshad Mastoi.
Unknown attackers fired several bullets due to which the other man was killed on the spot, while Mastoi was injured critically.
The injured journalist was immediately shifted to a hospital; however he succumbed to deadly wounds.
Irshad Mastoi was the general secretary of Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) and was quite active in his field.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), BUJ and other journalist associations have strongly condemned the killing of ARY News assignment editor and declared the incident as an attack on Freedom of Press.
Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain and Ameer of Jamat e Islami (JI), Sirajul Haq have also denounced the killing of Irshad Mastoi and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
