SWABI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s elected National Assembly Speaker, Asad Qaiser, has come a long way from being a spectacular hockey and volleyball player in his student life to the height of his political career.

The National Assembly will surely prove to be a totally different ball game for him, especially with a big and hostile opposition in the house.

Previously, speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Qaiser in the recently held 2018 general elections has won assembly seats, of NA-18 Swabi-I, and PK-44, Swabi-II. He had also won the same constituencies in the 2013 general elections as well.

Hailing from the village of Marghuz, Qaiser earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from postgraduate college, Swabi.

Asad Qaiser in the early stages of his political career was a part of the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan. He remained one of the leading leaders of Pasban, the youth wing of the party at that time.

He later joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after its formation in 1996. The same year, he was elevated to the office of district president of the party. He became the president of PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2008 where he served until 2013.

In his Village and among his acquaintances, he is known as the man who never loses his cool, but his patience would come to a test as he embraces the responsibly as the speaker of the National Assembly.
