SUKKUR: A raid conducted by ARY News ‘Zimmedar Kaun‘ team along with Sindh government officials raided the production unit of a famous bakery in Sukkur city of Sindh and sealed it for unhygienic conditions.
As Zimmedar Kaun host Kamil Arif, along with Sindh govt official entered the production unit of Dolphin Bakers And Sweets, they were shocked to find open violation of food safety regulations by a brand of such stature.
As the team entered the production unit, they were greeted by a cat roaming around among ready to sell eatables; baked items were placed on racks without proper cover and the overall environment of the production unit was not fit for preparations of eatables.
Dirty utensils were being used to bake cakes and other eatables while employees kept their clothes over baked cakes.
The team also saw stale flour covered by fungi in one of the refrigerators while the most shocking part was watching the chicken used in patties. A production unit employee confirmed that the dirty, stale pieces of chicken will be used in bakery products.
The team further spotted an open jelly drum (fruit jelly is used in a number of baked products and sweet meat) placed carelessly on a dirty flour with a match stick lying upon the jelly.
The Sindh govt officials sealed the production unit and also ordered the two outlets of the Dolphin Bakers and Sweets to stop selling eatables unless they improve the conditions at their production unit.
