Opposition rages as Sindh minister calls female lawmaker ‘maid’

Sindh Minister for Transport Mumtaz Jakhrani, during his speech, referred a female legislator as ‘maasi’ (maid), which caused uproar among the opposition members. The minister, however, didn’t name anyone. But reports suggest the remarks were targeted at a lawmaker associated with the PML-N. It is mentioned here that the word ‘maasi’ in Sindhi also used for the sister of mother or maternal aunt.

The opposition benches demanded the minister to tender apology.
