ISLAMABAD: Officials of anti-narcotics force (ANF), Pakistan Customs and Airport Security Force raided a Jeddah-bound Boeing-777 of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) at the at Jinnah International Airport and recovered over 15 kilogrammes of heroin from its secret sections, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
According to a PIA Spokesman, during a routine pre-departure search of Boeing-777, scheduled to operate as PK-7121 (Karachi-Jeddah) more than 15 kg heroin was found late Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer PIA Bernd Hildenbrand ordered an immediate and comprehensive inquiry into the incident.
He stressed that strict action should be ensured against those responsible for this crime, which not only brings a bad name to the airline but also to the country.
PIA, an already loss-making state carrier, has been facing increasing criticism after its ATR-42 suffered engine problems on December 7 soon after takeoff and crashed into the mountainous region of Chitral killing 47 people on board.
Even after the deadly crash, media have reported several delays and issues with the airline on the runways and engines in several cities.
