DUSHANBE: Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan has said that Pakistan believes in peaceful resolution of all issues, including the Afghan conflict that has buffeted the region for over a decade.
The minister, who is presently in Tajikistan, said this during talks with Tajik counterpart Lieutenant General Sher Ali Mirzo in Dushanbe. The two leaders discussed at length matters pertaining to regional cooperation.

Khurram Dastgir highlighted that being neighbors of Afghanistan both Pakistan and Tajikistan have been facing similar security challenges and threats.
He said Pakistan believes in peaceful resolution of all issues and appreciates the efforts of Tajikistan in promotion of peace and stability in the region.
The minister pointed out that CPEC will provide new and unique opportunities for enhancing connectivity and integration from Gwadar to Kashgar and Muryhab in Tajikistan.
He suggested that new avenues of defence cooperation between the two countries may be explored as Pakistan has adequately advance defence industries, producing quality products.
He also offered avenues for working out mechanisms for intelligence cooperation, exchange of military delegation in order to fight terrorism.
