Saudi Arabia extends ‘full cooperation’ to settle outstanding issues between Pakistan, India

ISLAMABAD: Saudi State Minister for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir on Thursday assured his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi of Saudi Arabia’s full cooperation to settle all the outstanding issues between Pakistan and India peacefully.

Saudi Arabian Minister al-Jubeir said this in a meeting with FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad.

They discussed matters of mutual interest, including Pakistan-India tension and regional peace.

The Saudi Arabian state minister is on a day-long visit to Pakistan at the direction of Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, and his tour aims at bringing the tense environment between Pakistan and India to normalcy.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi welcomed the mediation offer from the Saudi crown prince to deescalate the tensions between Pakistan and India.

Both the foreign ministers agreed to implement the steps to promote two-way economic, political and security cooperation under Pak-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council.

Prior to the Saudi Arabian minister’s arrival, while speaking to ARY News, FM Qureshi had said that Pakistan gave great importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia and added that Adel Al-Jubeir had declared Pakistan his second home.

Sources had said that Adel Al-Jubeir would convey an important message of Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman to PM Imran Khan.
