Bilawal begins ‘Karvan-e-Bhutto’ train march from Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari began his train journey “Karvan-e-Bhutto” from Karachi on Tuesday.

Accompanied by a large number of party leaders and workers, the PPP chief boarded a special train at the Karachi Cantonment Railway Station amid tight security.

Addressing party workers and activists before his departure, Mr Bhutto-Zardari said neither was this journey a protest nor a train march. He added he opted for train journey to Larkana to attend the upcoming death anniversary of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The march that began from the Karachi Cantonment Railway Station is expected to reach Larkana on Wednesday night making stopovers at a number of railway stations, including Landhi in Karachi, Jung Shahi in District Thatta, Kotri, Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Adam, Shahdadpur, Nawabshah.

Special arrangements have been made for the PPP chairman’s address at the Landhi Railway Station.

The march will stop at the Nawabshah Railway station for a mid-journey break on Tuesday night from where it will resume the journey at 10:00am on Wednesday.

Before its final destination, the train march will pass Daur, Padidan, Mirabpur, Bhirya, Khairpur Miris, Rohri, Sukkur, Habib Kot, Gosri and Madeji. The PPP chairman will address the party workers and supporters at the Larkana Railway Station where the march will conclude.
