GOLD COAST: Pakistani wrestler Muhammad Bilal bagged bronze at Commonwealth Games after defeating his opponent George Ramm of England by 3:1 points here at Gold Coast on Thursday.
The 22-year-old wrestler belonging to Gujranwala was competing in the 57 kg wrestling competition.
Earlier, Bilal gained victory over Gary Giordmaina of Malta and Charles Fernando Dicoshan hailing from Sri Lanka. He, however, could not beat India’s Rahul Aware as the Indian defeated him in the semi final.
Bilal’s victory makes the total number of bronze medals won by Pakistan at Commonwealth Games, three.

Prior to Bilal’s success, two weightlifters from Pakistan Nooh Dastagir Butt and Talha Talib have won bronze in their respective competitions
Team Pakistan had six grapplers in the competition and were aiming to get a medal in the 86kg event with gold medalist Muhammad Inam.
Pakistan is standing on 31st slot on the medals table.
