Armed forces fully prepared to respond any Indian aggression: Asif Ghafoor

ISLAMABAD: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday said that Pakistan’s Armed forces were fully prepared to give befitting response to any Indian aggression.

Talking to a local television channel, Major General Asif Ghafoor said that Pakistan Air Force had shot down two Indian jets over their intrusion in Pakistani airspace on February 26 and arrested one of their pilot. He said that the Indian pilot was released later as peace gesture.

The military’s media wing spokesperson said that both Pakistani and Indian forces were on high alert during February 26 to 28. He said that despite the peace gesture shown by Pakistani government, Indian troops continued unproved firing at the line of control (LoC).

Asif Ghafoor said that Pakistan did not want to sabotage the regional peace and added that investigations were underway on Indian dossier in the wake of Pulwama attack.

He said that Pakistan had nothing to do with Pulwama attack and added that the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government had offered cooperation to India over probe into Pulwama attack.

Asif Ghafoor said that all the political parties had unanimously supported the national action plan and the plan was being carried out since 2014.

Asif Ghafoor said that the government had decided to ban Jamaatud Dawa and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation in January. He said that it was the time to unite the nation and transform the country into a developed and prosperous state.
