Islamabad: Engineering goods exports have shown a growth of 54.21 percent this year as compared to the last year.
During period from July-September, 2013 country exported engineering goods worth US$ 88.718 million as compared to US$ 57.531 million goods exported in same period of last financial year.
According the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, about 433 thousand units of electric fans worth US$ 10.356 million exported which was up by 21.18 percent as compared to the exports of 408 thousand units valuing US$ 8.546 million during the corresponding period of last year.
The data revealed that exports of transport equipments grew by 4.80 percent and reached to US$ 4.626 million which were recorded at US$ 4.41 million in first quarter of last financial year.
During the period under review, other electric machinery exports witnessed tremendous increase of 87.19 percent and reached to US$ 27.262 million as against the exports of US$ 14.564 million recorded during same period of last year, it added.
However, the exports of machinery specialized for particular industry decreased by 4.62 percent as country managed to earn only US$ 7.16 million as against the exports of US$ 7.51 million recorded during the same period of last year, it said.
Meanwhile, auto parts exports also remain on down track as it went down from US$ 5.64 million in first three months of last financial year to US$ 4.59 million in same period of current year, it added.
