Incredible pictures of an uncontacted tribal community in the Brazilian Amazon have emerged and tribesmen are believed to have no contact with the outside world.

The tiny community of 100, part of the Yanomami tribe, is believed to have no contact with the outside world, but is under threat from encroaching violence and disease, and by gold-miners who have taken over the land.

The extraordinary images, posted on Survival International’s website, come amid fears the community could be wiped out by gold miners.

Miners have brought diseases such as malaria and polluted Yanomami food and water sources with mercury, according to international NGO Survival.

They show several men and women standing inside the massive house – known as a Yanomami yano – which holds a number of tribal families.

Some of them appear to be looking up at the sky, in either little or no clothing, as if they have spotted that they are being captured on camera.
