Earlier, a deadlock was persisting between the government and the Ghee Mills Association over the reduction of ghee prices. However, the mill owners agreed upon a cut in prices after successful talks with the government on Saturday evening.
Ghee mill owners agreed upon lowering the prices by Rs 15/kg from July 1.
Sources told that the companies which have not yet lessened the ghee prices will also reduce it following talks with the government.
However, a shortage of ghee is being feared across the province, as ghee supply to the retailers was suspended following the announcement of price reduction by the government.
