Pakistan gives importance to relations with Germany: PM Imran

ISLAMABAD: Hailing Germany’s role in diffusion tension between Pakistan and India, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said that Pakistan gave great importance to its relations with Berlin.

Talking to German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, who called on the premier at his office, PM Imran said that Pak-Germany ties rooted in bonds of common democratic values.

Matters of mutual interest, Pak-India tension, Afghan peace process, Indian atrocities in Kashmir, economic ties and other issues were came under discussion in the meeting.

According to a declaration released by his office, PM Imran said that Germany played commendable role in the region. He demanded of the international community to take notice of the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.

The prime minister said that Germany was an important partner of Pakistan in the national development and progress. He welcomed German investment in energy and automobile sectors. PM Imran asked the German envoy to provide technical assistance to Pakistan in the fields of education and health.

On this occasion, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas invited Prime Minister Imran Khan to visit Berlin. He said that PM Imran’s decision to release Indian pilot as a peace gesture was admired globally. The minister praised Pakistan’s role in Afghan peace process.
