PK-76 By Elections: Hand grenade attack injures two cops

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two police officials were injured during a hand grenade attack at a polling station of PK-76 Dera Ismail Khan earlier on Sunday – ARY News reports.

According to Police, armed suspects attacked a polling station. The armed persons threw a hand grenade during the exchange of fire in which two police officials were injured. They were immediately shifted to District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

By-Elections are also underway in the district. The seat was vacated after Law Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Israr Khan Gandapur was killed in a suicide attack. The district comprises of two Tehsils of Daraban Kala and Kolachi. The total number of voters in the districts is 108899.

Nineteen polling stations are made for women and 20 stations have been made for men whereas the total number of joint polling station is 51.

Ikram Khan Gandapur from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Independent candidate Fateh Ullah Mian Khel are contesting the polls from the district.
