As part of the government’s efforts to make Pakistan a polio-free state, a three-day anti-polio campaign is set to start in various part of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa from Monday.
The premier's focal person, in his latest statement here today, detailed that 7.1 million children were administered oral polio vaccine (OPV) during the campaign.
The deputy commissioner of the district said this adding that fines were imposed on members of anti-polio campaign for not performing their duties, laziness and negligence.
Amid tight security, 56,000 polio vaccination workers will take part in the campaign against the crippling disease. Around 5000 security men have been deployed for the security of the anti-polio workers during the campaign.
Nine million children up to five year of age will be administered polio drops in Sindh, while 2.4 million kids will be administered polio drops in Karachi only.
