However, the bang was most likely a ‘sonic boom’, according to sources, as training flights were being conducted by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) close to Manghopir area.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) denied reports of any jet crash, while the PAF spokesperson said that everything was on going as per routine.
The bang had spread terror among the masses, prompting police and rescue teams to rush in search of the site of blast.
