In a letter to the Secretary General of Arab League, the adviser said that India had unleashed a reign of terror against the innocent and defenceless civilians since the extrajudicial killing of a young Kashmiri leader Burhan Wani last month.

He emphasized that the current situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir is the result of the continued denial by India of the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir that was promised to them by the UNSC in the relevant resolutions.

Sartaj Aziz said that the current uprising in Kashmir is not an isolated incident but a manifestation of continued deep, widespread and long-held alienation of the oppressed people of the area from the Indian occupation.

He said the spontaneous and massive uprising is a manifestation that Kashmiris’ struggle is totally indigenous which cannot be equated with terrorism.
