According to details, city administration officials demolished MQM’s sector offices 63-A and 63-B located in Azizabad, which is said to be the party’s stronghold.

The process of demolishing MQM offices started when violence flared up on the roads of Karachi on August 22 after MQM chief addressed supporters in Karachi via telephone call, made anti-Pakistan statements and ordered them to attack media houses including ARY News for allegedly not giving due coverage to the party.

That very speech later led to a political chaos in Karachi that went absolutely against his own party for the first time in history.

Sindh government had decided to demolish all the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) offices established on the public properties and amenity plots across the province.

MQM Pakistan leader Farooq Sattar had announced on Thursday that it has amended its constitution and removed sections relating to its founder’s guidance in party decisions.

It should be noted that 54 MQM offices in Karachi have been razed by the authorities whereas 218 other offices have been sealed.
