ISLAMABAD: Mishal Malik, the wife of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik, has called the United Nations to stop atrocities against Kashmiris, Palestinians and Rohingya Muslims.

In a letter written to the UN secretary general, Ms Malik expressed grave concern over brutalities being committed against the Muslims in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), Palestine and Myanmar, urging the UN to pay heed to their sufferings.

She said the people of occupied Kashmir have been deprived of their fundamental rights. “I and my daughter have not seen her father Yaseen Malik for three years now. Indian High Commission is not issuing visa to us to visit him in Kashmir,” she complained in the letter.

She demanded the world body to slap diplomatic, economic and other sanctions on Myanmar and send a UN’s fact-finding mission there.

She said the atrocities of the worst kind being committed against Rohingya Muslims. Their ethnic cleansing is ongoing and their houses were being set ablaze, she added.

Ms Malik  had further demanded that the UN secretary general must pay a visit to Myanmar to take stock of the situation and directly contact with Myanmar’s army chief and de-factor ruler of the country and Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, to immediately stop killings of Muslims and maintain peace in troubled areas.
