KARACHI: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee here on Saturday announced that Shaban’s moon was sighted throughout the country.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting was held today with Mufti Muneebur Rehman in the chair in Karachi.
After the meeting, Mufti Muneebur Rehman announced that first of Shaban, 1440 Hijri, would fall on Sunday (April 7). The meeting was attended by its members of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and the officials of meteorological department.
Shab-e-Baraat would be observed on April 20 (Saturday) while It is expected that Ramadan would fall on May 5.

Earlier the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was set to meet on March 7, evening for the sighting of the moon of Rajab ul Murajab 1440.
Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, would preside over the meeting in Karachi.
Zonal and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees would also meet at their respective headquarters.
