Bill Gates acknowledges Army’s efforts in eradicating polio from Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: Business magnate and philanthropist Bill Gates on Thursday called Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and acknowledged supporting efforts by Pakistan Army for successfully eradicating polio from Pakistan.

The army chief appreciated his efforts towards this noble cause and assured him continued full cooperation in the best interest of Pakistan, media wing of armed forces, Inter Services Public Relations reported.

Gates through Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has provided extensive support to Pakistan for the Polio Eradication Programme.

It is pertinent here to mention that Bill Gates has the highest amount given to charity ($35 billion) among the greatest philanthropists in the contemporary world.
