ISLAMABAD: The chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday took a notice of the arrest of Director Archaeology and Museums Dr. Abdul Samad, soon after Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted on the matter.
Reacting to a complaint regarding arrest of ‘PhD holder’ Director Archaeology and Museums, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the prime minister on Feb 15 asked Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal to take action against people within the watchdog who bring disgrace to the organization.
PM Khan was referring to a complaint shared by a tweep over NAB’s action against the provincial director archaeology and museums, saying: “NAB brought the only PhD in Sanskrit, in Asia from Germany, a Fulbright scholar and a gold medalist in archaeology, Dr. Samad, to court for employing low paid workers to ward off illegal excavations. What a shame! Why should anybody serve here!”
