ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected reservations raised by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) on the post-polling process and asked them to come up with evidence for redressal of their complaints.

Secretary ECP Babar Yaqoob, addressing a press conference here, said if any of candidate had any concerns, they should approach the ECP and their complaints would be addressed.

“If any of the parties are not getting form 45 [(containing tabulated results of the polling station], then they should inform us,” he added.

He also insisted that there was no dearth of Form 45.

He asked candidates to name a particular polling station and an appropriate action would be taken next.

Yaqoob clarified that only legitimized number of polling agents can enter a polling station, and the rule cant be violated.

Couple of hours ago, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Faisal Sabzwari had expressed apprehensions on the results of general elections 2018 saying that the results were being written on plain paper rather than Form 45.

“Polling agents of about four to five constituencies have complained of irregularities,” he said while talking to media amid announcements of unconfirmed and unofficial results of different polling stations.

Faisal said his party was told that verified results could not be given.
